Audio Tours, Built Around You
Most audio tours are recordings. Somebody wrote a script for a fixed route through a fixed city, a voice actor read it, and every listener gets the same forty minutes in the same order — which works until you want to skip a stop, or you only have an hour, or you are interested in the food rather than the cathedrals.
This works the other way round. The route is planned first, around your time, your pace and what you said you cared about, and the narration is written and spoken for that route. Change the route mid-walk and the narration changes with it.
Choose audio and text, audio only, or text only.
What you hear at each stop
A spoken piece about the stop you are standing at — what it is, why it is there, and the part that is not on the plaque — followed by a direction cue to the next one. You control how much of it there is: directions only, short descriptions, detailed history, stories and anecdotes, local recommendations, or facts along the way. Pick several and you get several.
Listening in a group
Everybody's phone plays its own audio in sync with where the group is, so there is no huddling around one speaker and nobody at the back missing half of it. One person buys a pass and shares a code, and up to ten people including the host can join for free.
Reading instead of listening
Audio is not always the right choice. In a quiet church, on a crowded street, with a sleeping child in a pushchair, or simply when you would rather read — every stop has the same content as text, and you can choose text only when you set the tour up, or switch between them as you go.
